Front bumper removal...Is there a tutorial?

Ill be doing my Injen CAI today and have read over the
Tutorial on this install here on 8thcivic but the guy never
mentioned where any screws/clips/etc... were located
to remove the bumper.

So is there an article already made for the removal of an
06' Civic?

That's because it's so easy. ... yeah, that's it. Really I thought there was a DIY for bumper removal. It goes like this:

One Phillips head screw on the left and right wheel well. About 6 clips under the front. Use a flat head to pop out the top and then pull out the clip. When I did it I just pulled like He-Man and ripped them apart. I broke many clips. :) Using a flat head is much easier.

I'll keep searching and let you know.

I just got my Injen Cai last night and will try and install it either today after work or this weekend depending on how long it will take. I need my car to get to work and don't want to take something on that will take all night.

I did see a DIY for an AEM Intake but for the R18 engine. The Si is somewhat different and I don't seem to find the Injen Cai DIY for the Si.
Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you for your help.

Is it absolutely necessary to take off the bumper?

yup!

theres a bolt that holds the resonator onto the chassis
behind the bumper. Besides youll need to cust away a
section for the Intake pipe if you havent done it yet?

I guess I better put some blankets down and remove the bumper.
How difficult is it to cut the splashguard? Do you need a special saw or tool?
I just hate to cut my new car up If I mess up I will be very very upset.

I saw that and it's a great resource. The R18 Cai installation DiY is great but after looking at that and the Si it is totally different. Actually I think the Si is actually easier to install than the R18. I will wait until Saturday and take my time that way I wont be rushed in the evening and can let the car cool overnight.

Okay, I installed my Injen Cai and my Fit Horn and got the bumber back on.
The only question I have is on the bottom where the push pins go. Does the splashguard go on the bottom or the bumper tabs? I guess it really doesn't matter too much but I want to put them back the right way.
And I don't know if the black splash guard on top or on the bottom of the bumper lip or tabs.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Tom in Indy

Thank You for the quick response!
Those push pins a a pain! Wish they would've just used a few bolts to keep it simple.

Thanks again!

Me too. It took me 2 days to finish the install but that is because the HEAT was unbearable and I had to take a few breaks to hydrate myself. Overall I think it took me about 3 1/2 -4 hours doing it myself. I did cut the fenderwell but it isn't noticable from the outside. I do like the new sound of the car. Once you get over 4500 RPM that baby screams. I also think it gets up to speed a lot quicker. The rpms rise faster. Overall I think it was a worthwhile mod.
