CSX Front End Conversion

Alright, I have a 2006 Civic Sedan in beautiful NHBP. I'm eventually going to convert the engine to be electric only (increase efficiency). But at the moment I'm doing the requisit exterior mods to make the car unique. I've looked into the CSX front end conversion, and I'm convinced that this will be my next mod.

So my question is: Where can I get the parts needed for this conversion? I read that I needed some special things, but I just don't have the 'hook-ups' right now. I'll need:

CSX headlight
CSX Front bumper and bumper support
CSX Front fenders
and CSX hood but not the radiator support
(according to http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1737635)

Is there a place I can order these parts online so I don't have to hassle with $CDN price conversions? Thanks all!

Also, as a matter of preference: Do you think the car would look fine with the USDM tails with the CDM front end? Or should I just get the new boot-lid and tail lights too?

Personally I think converting both ends to CSX would be awesome...

as far as parts, there's a whole bunch of Canadians on here that could help you out, I hope they chime in.

I don't think that front end will look too good on a coupe.

alright, screw this idea. I found somewhere that the CSX conversion would be $3k, and I'd rather just do a retrofit for $600.

Why would you just want the front end? If I was to pick one or the other I would pic the rear. The USDM rear looks like dog shit, reminds me of the ninja turtles.

That idea of the CSX front on our coupes is a good idea yet. Is it a proven fact that it's not a direct bolton?

Im not sure if it was physically tried etc, but I remember someone saying it was a little off for whatever reason.

If Sickyute hasn't chimed in here yet... he should!! He just bought a conversion for his front end.

lol ...
ok ok ok ...
contact member NBPrudy ... he's a parts manager and performance acura somewhere in canada ... he'll be able to work with you ...

otherwise contact passwordjdm ...

however there are differences between the jdm and cdm models ... slight but they are present ...

1. the hoods are different .....
jdm = flat hood
cdm = line in the middle of hood

2. bumpers are different
jdm = flat bumper in front
cdm = line in the middle of bumper to match the hood

3. headlights are different
jdm = cleared corners on headlights
cdm = amber corners on headlights

4. fenders are different
jdm = side markers on fenders
cdm = no side markers

5. foglights are different
jdm = works off a switch like in the fg2 ... FA5 can't use that from what i was told.
cdm = works off a new headlight stalk like in the FA5 (this is what u will have to get)

they'll all fit but it's a matter of preference ...
if i had my way i'd have jdm fenders, cdm hood, bumper and lights ... but no one will sell u jdm fenders by themselves right now ... or any other pieces ...

so to remedy this ... cdm complete front end rather than jdm ... then buy the side markers after ...

IMO the line on the hood and bumper adds an extra touch of elegance to the car ... i always like amber sides on my headlights for added safety reasons (reason i didn't clear them out on my fg2 during my retrofit) ...

hope that helps.

PS: CDM conversion worked out cheaper than password jdm's.

That's odd... I thought all FD's had turn signals integrated into the mirrors.

Anyways, I agree - the little line on the center of the hood is a nice touch.

you know, i'm trying to find the difference between the JDM hood and the USDM hood. I honestly cant see a difference by looking at them besides the line in the middle. can anyone tell me the difference?

There is no USDM CSX.

If you're referring to JDM vs CDM, then yes, the center crease is the only difference.
